After downloading the installer i installed it in my machine. After installation completes, Emsisoft presented us with a configuration wizard. We went through several configuration steps before we could start to use the program fully. The configuration wizard sets up the updater, runs a computer scan and allows us to customize real-time protection options.Emsisoft Anti-Malware’s interface is very simple and everything is very nicely available under one window, but this does not affect at all on its ease of use. All the menus of the software is in the left hand side of the application window allowing comfortable navigation.I decided to check some key features such as ‘Behavior Blocker’, which allows detecting harmful actions that are run on your system. You can specify in detail the behavior you would like to allow or block for specific programs. For example, you can allow the program to allow installing services and drivers, change browser settings but block unwanted or harmful activities such as spyware or wormlike activity.I just love the scan tab because it has
- Quick Scan – Scans for active malware processes only. You can choose this method of scanning if you are an advanced user and planning to scan with more specific scan settings.
- Smart Scan – Scans thoroughly your files, registry, memory and system as whole. If any malware is detected, a Deep Scan should be run.
- Deep Scan – This is the slowest but as the name suggests deepest scan that scans every single file on your hard disk for any malware traces.
- Custom Scan – Allows creating customized scans via manual configuration of settings.
Pros:-Emsisoft Anti-Malware backed up by its two scan engines (the Emsisoft Anti-Malware, and the Ikarus Anti-Virus engine) does a very good job at detecting malware. Its protection layers include heuristics and behavioral engines too. Emsisoft Anti-Malware can be configured flexibly by allowing you to choose between best performance (scan programs on execution only) and best protection (scan all files when accessed) to combine performance with protection, and for protecting the system against online threats.
