Review: I am always using some form of 3rd party software to protect my folder. Protected Folder is only of many alternative, but a good one. Very easy to use drag and drop features.
I was so amazed by it speediness in launch, hide,lock and protect. Very light weight it seem. More impressive to me is that after uninstall, all protected folder automatically unhided and returned to its original, even I did not do so before uninstall. With this, I really feel secure with Protected Folder.Once the files have been locked, by default it will be disappear from the Windows Explorer. There are some advantages when disadvantages when doing this. If you have hide the file you won’t be able to see not even if you have changed the folder setting to display hidden file. But if you choose to show the file, when you open locked folder or file you will see a blank file or access denied error message. It will not directly open this utility and ask user to enter password. You have to remember that this file is actually being locked by Protect Folder or else you will be losing this file forever.
However, there are points needed to improve.
1) make it portable or at least safe the protected folders as .exe that can be unprotected without dependent on the software. Why? Many people need to protect their folder in external hard drive and at the same accessible anywhere in any pc.

2) the large window took up basically half of the desktop. A floating window like in major download manager would be a better option. Just drag and drop a folder or shortcut into it and done – all hidden and protected.
I kind of like this software. Simplicity, secure and speedy.
